Description

an option to limit the number of max concurrent downloads would be cool. e.g. you set it to 10 only that count is running at a time and all other downloads are paused. once one download is finished the next resumes.

now when you have much downloads i have the problem that my dsl line is nearly unuseable.

The number of downloads doesn't matter. It's the number of sources/active connections that matters.

  • status changed from new to assigned.
  • summary changed from limit number of concurrent downloads to Start next paused download on completition.

I don't see any reason for limiting number of downloads either. I agree that "start next paused after completition" is a needed feature (most p2p clients have it), however actually limiting num-downloads can be achieved via other means - like pausing some of them. And limiting #downloads won't solve your problem, what you need is limit download bandwidth and/or connection counts.

However, some protocols (such as BT) may implement such limiting internally, where it's required by protocol netiquette (BT protocol netiquette says you shouldn't have more than two active torrents at a time).

Changing ticket title to reflect the revised request.

you are right but hnshell does not show which dl's are paused :-(. This feature would help to not violate the netiquette in standard config. So you could define per network the max number of concurrent downloads and after finishing one the next one starts.
